Typically in a family session the first 10 - 15 minutes will simply be an "adjustment" time. My goal is to let the kiddos get familiar with the location, me and have the opportunity to just be themselves. If you can give them a few minutes to relax the shoot always goes better. Your images will reflect a more authentic representation of your family when we allow time for this.

I will provide direction during this session, but also let little moments happen that best show case your family's typical interaction. I want to document your family in a location that's meaningful to you, whether it's at your favorite park, a place around town or at your house.

Families are awesome! The blessing of family is something to be cherished and thankful for. There are so many different dynamics to a family and I have so much fun capturing the unique personalities of each and every family I work with! I think it's so important to have visual memories of each season so we can remind ourselves of all that we have to be thankful for.

In dealing with families I think the key to a great session is perspective! If you have littles then come to expect that they will be just that, KIDS! Having toddlers sit still and smile goes against everything they want to do in a new environment. They want to explore and figure things out, so I let them.
